There are many experts when it comes to hay production, but the one that I admire most would be John Jennings, a professor in animal sciences at the University of Arkansas. The University of Arkansas Department of Agriculture wrote an article talking about hay production through pasture management. This article states that “establishing and managing forages can be challenging under changing conditions.” I can totally relate to that statement. It has been difficult to work in the pasture with the weather changing a lot here in Arkansas. Now that the weather is starting to warm up and there’s not as much rain in the forecast, I’ve been able to get out and start flagging the different plots out.
